Sunday Breakfast

Sundays are hard with little kids, trying to get everyone ready for church, making sure that their clothes stay clean long enough to get to church, trying to get them to stay quiet at church, and of course the doozy for us - missing naps for church.

We have chosen to look on the bright side. I am having a lot of fun in my new calling as Nursery leader, not going to lie it is a daunting thought when the vast numbers of children that I will get to play with are put in front of me, but we have made it structured, and I am soo happy to say that nursery is a happy place for me, and the children.

Also, my family is totally loving having full breakfasts on Sunday, something that we forgo most days for some toast or cereal. In the last month we have had breakfast pullaparts, eggs
benedict, and crepes to name a few, and I am certain that my children are loving it!
these were the best pictures I could get this morning - I tried!

Camera Case

Skyler and Ethan were given a camera for Christmas so that they could take their own pictures on our vacation, and I got a new point and shoot camera as well (it's pink, I LOVE it!) I thought it best to make cases for them since mine is typically at the bottom of my purse, or the diaper bag, and the boys, well, they are 3 and 5 years old and although they love the camera they sure do find some interesting places to store it. I am thrilled with how these turned out, I lined them with flannel, so they are nice and soft on the inside, and I do think it was worth the scraps of fabric, and 1/2 hour of my time!

I don't want to Jinx it...

But Ethan ate all of his dinner again, and I may have bribed him by saying that I would put his picture on the computer again - what can I say he loves seeing himself on my blog. Tonight was zuchini, and spinach filled ravioli, and the past even had the sauce on.

Sick boy

We were up a lot last night. Skyler was puking, and when we finally got up this morning the only thing that he wanted was some gingerale and Stephen to come and watch a movie with him. We are soo blessed that Stephen makes my children a priority and that he would take the time to come and grant my sick child his only wish.

He ate dinner!!!

Do you see the cauliflower on that fork? The empty plate in front of him? He ate his dinner, all of it. Rice, carrots, roast chicken, and cauliflower - all of it. Ethan ate his dinner!!!

These Boots are Made for Walking...

These little cowboy boots were are Children's Place around Stampede time, and I loved them, and thought they would be fun for Ryley, but the $26 price tag turned me off. I have a very limited budget for clothing for my family. Well, I watched them for probably 3 months, but the price came down to something in my budget, and I picked her up a pair of black and pink ones for $3. It was a worthwhile purchase as well because she LOVES them. She even ended up wearing them to church the other day, a real Taylor Swift look, but I didn't have it in me to fight with her over it. She may only be 16 months old, but she knows what she wants!

Fondue on New Years

I know that New Years isn't really a kids holiday, but I love finding something fun to do with them. For the last couple of years we have done a Chocolate fondue with the kids before they go to bed, and then we go out, or have people over. The kids think it is such a treat, and I do love those chocolaty little faces!

Wise Men

Growing up the New Years baby visited out home on New Years Day, it was just another excuse for some candy and a little gift, but I loved it. We have carried on the tradition, with a minor twist in our family. New Years Day is when the Wise Men came you see, and the still like to make my children smile. We don't do anything big or extravagant, normally it is just something to compliment a Christmas gift, but it is a tradition that I love, and I truly find so much joy when I see my kids faces filled with excitement!

Upcoming Trip

My in-laws are taking us to Mexico in February and we are really excited! Last time we were there, Ethan was 8 months old, and Skyler was 2 1/2. Now we have 3, and they are all a little older, understand more and I am really excited to see them enjoying themselves in the water all day. Skyler has been asking daily how many more days until we leave, so he now has his very own countdown to Mexico - I think it is super funny because when I made it for him, there was still 35 days until we leave!
