Randoms

We have been doing monthly dates with the boys, and last month Jordan took Ethan to Playtopia, which he loved!
And I totally love these pictures, it is a prime example of Ryley being loved a little too much by here brothers and loving it as you can see. Really Ethan was just trying to give her a hug.Miss Ryley had her first ever swing ride which was somewhat well received.
And this is something that Skyler does periodically, he will get breakfast ready for the rest of the family. It always consists of yogurt because that is what he can get by himself, but I find it super cute!
Life is good, and I love these small things, sometimes they help me get through some of the not so fun parts of life.

A Fabulous Getaway

Just to pass on some of our excitement. We were pushing it kind of close heading up to the airport because we wanted to see the kids off in the morning. We pulled up to the airport and realize that we forgot the passports! and not just one, but all 3. A phone call to my dad, and he going 145 up deer foot, a West Jet employee who put in false passport info to get us checked in and through customs while my dad was racing up, and then helping us to move to the front of the security line, and ultimately the plane being held about 5 minutes so that we could leave on that flight, we made it onto the plane where Ryley decided to scream for the majority of the flight, but once we were there is was soo worth it!

We had so much fun in Arizona Last week. These 2 fun Couples Joined us for a fantastic time.

Nick had some sweet family connections and got us Free passes to golf land. Sun Splash wasn't open yet, apparently 30 degrees Celsius is not warm enough for pool time, but there were 6 water slides, bumper boats, extreme go-karts, our choice of 3 mini golf courses and an arcade. We could have spent a few hours longer there going back and forth, but alas night time came, and we had to make it back to the house.Ryley was finding it a little warm, but she was a trooper and was pretty good for the duration of the trip!

We had a lot of fun shopping
each of us finding some fun treasures, and getting a good laugh while we were at it. even Ryley had some good finds.

The guys got board after about 1/2 and hour, so they caught a show.

On Sunday we decided to go for a picnic at the Cacti forest. Does that sound like a bad idea to anyone else? somehow we all thought it was a good idea until we found somewhere to stop and realized that Cacti are not very soft, or friendly plants although some of them are super cool looking!Ryley had her first bonding experience with Chloe, oh they are going to be great friends!Games night was a blast, always fun to see who is competitive, and who was not.Jordan decided to have a nasty looking root beer float with root beer ice cream topping in it.
not for everyone, but I guess if you love root beer...
The boys took in a game of golf at the local course which sported an island greenour trip was finished off with a Phoenix Suns playoff game, which was spectacular, and one of the highlights of the trip for me. A huge thanks to my Mom and Dad for the accommodations, and helping with our boys so that we could go on this trip, and a thank you to my in-laws for their help with the boys and getting us off on our flight!

Family Easter Fun

First of all, I totally planned the mornings wrong this weekend. We had a 3 day weekend which meant Jordan got to sleep in one day, I got to sleep in one day and then we would both get up, and just have a super productive day. I ended up with my sleep in day yesterday, Easter Sunday and there was no way that I was going to miss seeing the kids excitement which really just meant that I didn't get to sleep in at all. This was the boys on the stair waiting patiently for daddy to get the video camera going so they could see what Easter morning brought, and this is miss Ryley waking up after all of the excitement (easter egg hunt, finding the loot in the baskets, and a yummy eggy breakfast)

This year Easter was the same weekend as General Conference for our church, which I loved it meant being uplifted by our prophets AND being able to be lazy and do things at my pace. We actually hosted Easter dinner at our place this year, which is a first, but it was fun, and I do love spending time with my family. The boys and I made some center pieces last week, by planting some of out food storage wheat (am I the only one who doesn't really know what to do with it?) in some pretty painted pots and sticking some brightly decorated eggs in it.as an after thought, I made little felt napkin rings since I was only putting the utensils and napkins on the table because it was too small to fit all of the food.
(Jordan even helped me craft these!)
I made this kids dress nice, it was Easter Sunday after all. I just loved the boys posing with their new sunglasses.and of course my pretty princess. It is a good thing that she has a few dresses. She started out in a purple one today, but of course made a huge mess of it, even before I managed to get the camera out.

from the mouth of babes

Today we were out with the kids, and Jordan was looking back at the boys in the van and Ethan announces "Daddy you have a big nose" hmm, I chose not to ask his opinion of mine.

Out on this same trip Jordan was busy taking Skyler to the bathroom, and they passed a transformers toy on a shelf and he announces "Transformers are cooler than horses on horseshoes" really horses on horse shoes??? where does he come up with this stuff?

April Fools

I had fun today making a fun April Fools dinner for my family (Jordan was grossed out at the mere mention of it, but oh well)

The kids were soo excited that I made them cupcakes for dinner, unfortunately for them they were meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Is it wrong that I think Ethan's progression is soo funny? He started out soo excited, went to ick that's not a cupcake to bawling. For dessert we had baked potatoes. The kids loved this, since it was really ice cream, and oh the ideas, I can hardly wait until next year.

Getting Ready for Easter

The kids and I have been having fun this week getting ready for Easter. We made sugar cookies, decorated eggs, worked on some special center pieces since we are hosting Easter Dinner this year (I will post them later) I love having fun with my boys, and as much as then loved making cookies, decorating eggs was their favorite this year.Grandma and Grandpa Nielson are in Florida, adn won't be home for Easter, but dropped off some crafts and clothes for the boys. They had fun making some Spring Chicks too.

I seriously Love this Girl

She is by far my best baby. Skyler was a pretty average baby, Ethan was a VERY difficult baby, and toddler for that matter, and Ryley is an angel. If I let her sleep as much as she would like, she just smiles and coos all day. I love how excited she gets when she sees me. I love to see her learn and grow, and I love to see her sleep like an angel!
