The Calgary Zoo
We try to make it to all of the attractions around the city about once a year, and that includes the zoo, which happened quite late this year, and we didn't get it in until today, on the September long weekend
. It is really just a nice walk although is was pretty busy today.
the kids had fun seeing the different animals, Skyler walked around holding his nose the WHOLE time, and Ryley kept trying to get into the animal cages.
They have the moving dinosaurs there right now which the boys really wanted to see, and after a small breakdown from Ethan because he was certain that the dinosaur was going to eat him
both boys did end up enjoying themselves, even if Ethan kept a death grip on my hand as long as we were anywhere near a dinosaur.

School Starts again
I have mixed feelings this time of year. I love the change of seasons, and i LOVE routine and schedules, but I also love having my kids around and ready for a spur of the moment trip to the park, or Calaway. Skyler was soo excited to start school, and he was thrilled that he had a friend in his class.

Waterton Oilmans
My Dad has golfed in this tournament for as long as I can remember. In fact he said that he has only missed one year since he started golfing in it, and that was the year that I was married, and he was in the hospital for a bone marrow transplant and associated complications.
This year Jordan got to golf in it. He is totally legit since he works in the oil and gas industry, but it is a closed tournament, so you need an 'in' to be able to play, and then once you play you get you application every year after.
It was a fun weekend! There is a ladies scramble which some time I will play, but for now I have 3 little munchkins to keep me busy. I had a fun weekend planned where I would take the kids up Red Rock Canyon, go to the candy store, watch a parade, eat lots of junk, but the weather really didn't cooperate, but we had fun anyways.
Jordan lost his games on Saturday so he played in a scramble Sunday and won!!! That will keep you coming back.
Now we need to get some more younger people to come out. I had a really fun time at the banquet, but that was mostly laughing at the men's poor dancing abilities!

Body Worlds

I have some great friends, and today one of them called and offered me free tickets to Body Worlds at Telus World of Science. Jordan and I had talked about taking the kids, since Skyler is so fascinated about the body, but the $80 didn't seem worth it. While I still wouldn't pay the big bucks, it was soo great. The kids loved the exhibit, and then had a blast in the other kids area. I LOVE this kind of stuff, and it was slightly morbid knowing that it was all real specimens, and not replicas - it was still really cool!
